Truck Bed Mats – Dent Stoppers

Truck bed mats are one answer to protect your trucks from life shortening damage. Pickup trucks were made for hauling. Unless you are very careful though, quickly a shiny new bed can look like a rust bucket. Scratches and scrapes from just casual use will start the rusty trail if the paint is scraped down to bare metal. And a work truck that’s used hard can quickly pick up big dents and dings that lead to an early grave. So what’s the answer? Can you really use your truck and still keep it looking good?

One choice to protect your bed is a spray on bed liner. That may be the number one choice now for a number of reasons. The bed liners are attractive, tough and permanent protection for your bed. But maybe you don’t want a permanent coating or maybe you choose something with more padding or less money. Maybe you want some protection for that expensive spray on liner. That would be protection for the protection!

In many cases a bed mat may be a great choice to protect your bed or even to cover up existing damage. Bed mats come in a variety of types and variations. Your main material choices are carpet and rubber. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?

Carpet Liners

Carpet is an especially good choice if your truck sports a tonneau cover or a topper shell. Most carpet liners are weatherproof, but a wet liner can hold moisture on the bed and start damage to the bed. However, some new carpet covers are made of closed cell foam like life preservers and dry very fast. A carpet covering is a non-skid surface and that may be just what your hauling requires. Plus carpet is cushion for knees if your loading or hauling calls for some crawling around on the truck bed. Also carpeting is perfect for cushioning big, messy hauling jobs.

With these mats you may choose a reversible cover. For really messy, rough hauling some mats have two usable sides. Sometimes one side is carpet and the other rubber. These dual side mats are just the thing for real work trucks that need tough non-skid protection.

On the other extreme, pick a custom made carpet lining that covers bottom and sides of the bed with luxury carpet. You wouldn’t want a luxury carpet liner for messy loads but for more casual hauling and recreational use. Many of these liners are installed with velcro so the liners are easy to remove and clean.

Rubber Liners

For really nasty or rough hauling, rubber mats are virtually indestructible. These mats are also weatherproof, unbreakable and shock absorbing. Rubber mats can take severe bashing with little or no damage. Plus you get some road noise muffling with the bed protection.

You may want a trim to fit universal mat. That will be your cheapest choice. A custom fit rubber mat is probably made for your truck too. Another option is to get a multi-piece liner just for your truck that includes a rubber floor mat plus snap in side pieces to cover the whole bed.

Whatever your choice, truck bed mats are an important option to protect the value of your old or new truck.

Decorative Car Floor Mats: Get Them In Your Automobile

The beauty is something that is reflected through your eyes. It brings shine and sense of satisfaction in your eyes. It is not the external beauty that always matters. One should give the same importance to internal beauty, which is most of the times not visible. The case is similar in automobiles. Everybody appreciates the external prettiness of the car, but nobody cares or even pays attention towards its internal beauty. There are so many things that contribute to this internal beauty. These objects vary from interior lights, seats, steering wheel and floor mats. People mostly wonder how floor mats can contribute in enhancing the external splendor of any automobile. Let’s understand how the floor mats and car liners are significant for car interior.

Car Mats are designed to protect the floor of the vehicle from dirt, dust, wear and salt corrosion. Manufacturers equip them to keep the vehicles clean for long. These mats are considered as an imperative car accessory that does not always come with the car. You have to buy them from the companies dealing in car parts and accessories. These experts produce this special car accessory by properly following Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and ensuring manufacturer credibility and quality. Factors that are considered vital during the manufacturing of car floor mats and liners are:

• Durability

• Odor Release

• Performance at various heat levels

• Anti-slip bottom side

• A heel pad for added safety

• Wear and tear proof

Car Mats are available in a range of materials that not only have ample strength but also increase the interior aesthetics. These consist of:

Cloth Mats: Cloth Mats are available in different colors. These are soft and have a rubber back which avoids slipping. These mats are supple, washable and highly absorbent which make them idyllic for rainy and muddy conditions.

Rubber Mats: Rubber mats are recognized for their toughness, but the drawback of these types of mats is that they cannot absorb water and mud like cloth mats.

All-Weather Mats: All-weather mats are porous, and the turned edges put a stop to the water from leaking over the sides. Therefore, these mats are better than basic rubber mats. These are most commonly used floor mat type. Designer all-weather mats contain company logos, advertisements or cartoon characters.

One will find universal and custom fit mat options where the universal mats can fit into multiple cars. On the other hand, custom fit mats are specifically designed for a car brand and model. The features and specifications of these mats remain the same.

These mats are:

• Waterproof

• Mould and mildew resistant

• Stain and fade resistant

• Long-lasting grade of carpet

• Come up non-skid rubber backing

• Easy to customize in the way you want with different custom selection options

• Available in sets of 2 front or 4 front and rear mats

• Accessible with Greek Lettering styles

• Obtainable with the monogram of your initials, name or favorite saying

Make sure that the car mats you are buying are designed to handle the scorching heat and effects of salt.

Boat Trailer Rollers

Significantly, when you use boat rollers, you basically shift some of the weight from the carpeted bunk to the roller by minimizing the friction between boat and trailer. You will be surprised at how easier the launching has become. You do not need to submerge the trailer to float off the boat. You will not get water in the wheel bearing area, and will keep the tow vehicle off of the slippery portion of the ramp.

There are various types of rollers, such as keel rollers, spool rollers, bow rollers, and rib rollers.

Keel Rollers are developed and designed to support the bottom and/or the keel of a powerboat on a boat trailer. These kind of rollers are wider than most of the other available rollers. These rollers have a low pitch to adapt to the flat bottom of a boat’s hull. The roller facilitates a boatman to push or pull his boat on and off the trailer, without much physical involvements..

Spool Rollers and Bow Rollers are quite similar to each other. Bow rollers play a vital role at the time, when your boat and trailer are in transit. Bow rollers provide support to your boat to help eliminate movement, which may cause potential damage. They are made to support the bow or front of a power boat. The ‘V’ shaped appearance of the hull in the bow of a power boat aligns up with the center of the roller. The roller acts as a guide and help pushing or pulling the boat.

Rib Rollers assist the ribs of power boats onto the trailer. They make loading and unloading simpler by providing negligible resistance than just carpet on trailer bunks. Some of the rib rollers are very smooth which work efficiently for boats that come in and out of the water frequently. While some of the models are ribbed for effective traction on slippery or slimy boat bottoms.

Apart from various types these boat rollers are available in different materials. Their durability and life depend mostly on the type of material used in its manufacturing. For example, it is available in rubber and plastics; rubber boat rollers which tend to take a fair beating have more chances to crack and split but plastic bow rollers are built to last longer.

Undoubtedly, boat rollers are of great use as they help guiding a boat on and off of a trailer during loading and launching. Rollers help making it more easy to launch and load or pull and push the boat on and off of the trailer and are available in different types to cope up with your requirement.

As the name suggests, this part helps your cars to move freely, without making any great amount of noise. These bushes are made of annular cylinder shape using soft yet powerful flexible material. These are placed in a cylinder like tube to frame it as a freely movable piece of auto part. Following are some types and kinds of suspension bushes-

Cylinder shaped: It is the universal shape of these motor parts as this shape can easily be placed between other parts without burdening their functions-rather it helps those parts to move with convenience according to their supposed work.

Tube Shaped: Tube shaped bushes are an advanced version of universally known cylinder shaped suspension bushes.

The Noble M14 Sports Car

The Noble M14 – A close look at this sports car including performance, technical data, features, comparing rivals, history, used prices from Classic to Modern.

THE CAR

Designated the Noble M14 sports car, the next addition to the Noble line-up of super cars was introduced, in late 2004, at the British Motor Show with a price tag of £74,950.

Its designers had an eye to it competing with such prestigious rivals as the Porsche 996 Turbo and Ferrari 360 Modena.

The styling was to be distinctive, and moving away from that of its predecessors, whilst incorporating forceful features in the front section.

The rear of the car featured an arc of six different lights, and the two exhaust pipes were positioned centrally, for maximum impact, and above the rear diffuser.

Since the M14 was now marginally longer and wider than the M12, this led to an increase in available space within the cabin, as well as creating an additional luggage facility in the front.

The interior received leather trim throughout, whilst wool carpeting covered the floor area.

No expense was spared when it came to the seating, which had a carbon fibre frame, and was covered in leather. The position of the sets was fully adjustable in all directions.

With an eye to the driver, the M14 was fitted with air conditioning, electric windows, a heated windscreen, an immobiliser, and optional satellite navigation.

It had a composite glassfibre body on a steel space frame chassis, and the cabin was constructed with an integral roll over cage for additional safety.

The additional luxurious fitments increased the curb weight from 1080 kg to only 1150 kg.

It used 33 cm AP Racing vented and drilled disc brakes all round, 18 inch alloy wheels, a redesigned steering wheel, and power-assisted steering.

THE ENGINE

Following on from the M12 GTO-3R sports car, the Noble M14 was powered by a highly tuned 3 litre, Ford Duratec V6 engine, fitted with two Garrett T25 turbochargers that produced 0.7 bar of boost, together with two intercoolers, that were positioned behind the rear wheel arches, and helped to produce additional storage space at the rear of the car.

Linked to this unit was the same six speed manual gearbox used in the M12 series, with gear ratios chosen to produce relaxing high speed driving.

With a compression ratio of only 8.5:1, this arrangement developed 400 bhp at 6100 rpm (redline was 7200), and 385 ft/lbs of torque at 4750 rpm, the majority of which was available at around 3000 rpm, so increasing the engine’s flexibility

This produced a top speed of 190 mph, with a 0-60 mph time of 4.3 secs. Technical data:

COMPETITION
